EVO-STIK League Clitheroe are doing their bit to improve Anglo-Russian relations, at least with ordinary Russians!

With Russian bombers buzzing UK airspace and warships keeping the Royal Navy busy cruising British waters in increasing numbers in recent years, the Blues have put sport first to add Alexey Girnik to their roster of international supporters at Shawbridge.

Based in the Samara region in the south eastern part of European Russia, the supporter is pictured heading into the St Petersburg Arena to watch Zenit in a Europa League match proudly showing off the scarf the Blues sent him after he got in touch to pledge his support.

The Blues have also been brushing up on their Russian and a spokesman said: "Спасибо Alexey!"
