Season to end with four day festival

Marine fans will be toasting the end of the Northern Premier League's historic fiftieth anniversary season at the club's third annual end of season beer festival.

Running from Thursday 19 April to Sunday 22 April and sponsored once again by Rent-a-space, Liverpool’s premium provider of self-storage and flexible business space solutions, the four day event at The Marine Travel Arena was officially announced on Friday ahead of the Mariners hosting Witton Albion this weekend.

Timed to coincide with their last home game of the season against Whitby Town, the festival is free to attend with 13 cask ales and three ciders from 13 breweries on sale for just £1.50 per half pint using tokens purchased on the day at the ground's reception.

With this season's end of season party featuring top class bands Hotdogs on the Friday, Taylor and Paisley French on the Saturday and Continuum Duo on the Sunday, Marine chairman Paul Leary is backing the Crosby club's latest community initiative to be another huge success.

The Mariners chairman said: “The success of our last two end of season beer festivals have paved the way to add a fourth day to this year’s event and also to incorporate some real class musical acts into the programme. We have planned to take that success to another level this year and we are looking forward to once again working with our staff, suppliers, volunteers, musicians and sponsors to make this happen.

"We have also extended the number of products for this year’s event to 13 cask beers and 3 ciders and I believe that the extra day combined with the music programme and extended beers and ciders will provide the recipe for a hugely successful event.”

Leary added: “I would like to thank Kevin Murphy, managing director of Rent-a-space self-storage for agreeing once again to be event sponsor. Marine Football Club appreciates the support he has given to our festivals since we started them in 2016 and I look forward to working with him and the numerous volunteers who are to assist in making our beer and music festival a great success for our football club, its supporters and sponsors.”
