Pitch inspections with snow falling

2 months ago By David Watters

The EVO-STIK League's clubs are bracing for more snow and ice on the last Saturday of 2017 after the Met Office issued a Yellow Weather Alert for Northern England on Friday.

With a full programme scheduled in all three divisions, club secretaries at a number of clubs were already arranging early morning pitch inspections to minimise possible disruption for fans and fellow clubs.

By 5pm, Ashton United, Frickley Athletic, Kidsgrove Athletic, Stamford and Witton Albion were among those who'd already notified the league of planned inspections with snow falling in many areas and plummeting temperatures threatening to disrupt a third EVO-STIK League weekend programme since the first cold snap at the start of December.

For the latest news on match inspections and confirmed postponements, follow the EVO-STIK League's social media channels and check for officially confirmed updates on the fixtures pages of the official website.
