The Blues, who successfully staged a number of UEFA U17s internationals last season, are preparing for their latest international fixture, an U16s friendly between England and Spain in preparation for next year’s UEFA European U17s Championship on home soil.
The 2018 chapter of the prestigious, 16-team tournament will be based out of St George’s Park with fixtures played in stadiums across the midlands. It will be the first time England has played host to the U17 competition with the Three Lions will be looking to add to the two titles they claimed in 2010 and 2014.
The Blues say many of England head coach Dan Micciche’s current crop of U16s will be hoping to be a part of next summer's festival of football and follow in the footsteps of England captain Wayne Rooney who introduced himself to the international stage by claiming the Golden Player Award at the inaugural 2002 tournament in Denmark.
The UEFA Development Tournament fixture kicks off at 7pm with admission prices set at £3 for adults and £1.50 for children and concessions. For more information, including discounted group bookings and a special offer for FA Charter Standard clubs, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
