Blyth Spartans

Blyth Spartans have finally completed the long distance signing of goalkeeper Mark Cook after he received his international clearance from Peru.

The 24-year-old has been training with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Spartans at Croft Park since returning from South America following a stint at Lima based giants Universitario de Deportes - Peru’s largest club. They are managed by former Newcastle United and Peruvian legend Nolberto Solano who Cook knew from their time together at Hartlepool United.

Locally based Cook, started out at Newcastle United before moving to Hartlepool. Following his release from Victoria Park, he went on to play for Gateshead and Harrogate Town last season before his South American adventure.
