Hurd is latest NPLFA senior product

Jack Hurd became the 39th Northern Premier League Football Academy player to make his senior team debut earlier this week.

Second year student Hurd, 18, turned out for Leek Town in their Integro League Cup first round win over Newcastle Town on Tuesday night.

He is the third academy debutant to feature for Leek and the 39th overall since the pilot programme was created in 2014.

More than 600 students have been enrolled since its inception and a total of 17 teams across 13 clubs are taking part in the 2018/19 season.
