Curran named Young Player of the Year for second successive year

Colne FC's Alex Curran scooped the Young Player of the Year award in the EVO-STIK League West Division for the second successive season.

Curran, 20, has once again been a key part of the Colne team as they push towards the play-off places as the run-in heats up.

He was presented with his award at the annual player awards evening in Barnsley on Sunday.

The Premier Division Young Player of the Year award went to Nantwich Town striker Joe Malkin.

Malkin, 20, has scored 10 goals in 34 appearances, including 18 starts.

The winner in the East Division was Belper Town midfielder Piteu Crouz.

Crouz, 22, has 10 goals in 35 appearances this season.
